Material Challenges

What Construction Manufacturers Face in the Midwest.

Outdoor UV and Weather Durability
Iowa winters and Midwest summers are hard on plastic components. We evaluate UV stabilizer packages and weatherability ratings for your specific outdoor exposure conditions - so your product holds color and mechanical properties through a 20-year installation lifecycle, not just through the first season.
Building Code Compliance
Construction products reference specific ASTM standards for pressure ratings, impact resistance, and flame spread. We provide grade documentation against applicable ASTM requirements and can help identify compliant grades before you're already in tooling.
Volume Pricing for Project Bids
Construction projects bid material cost months before the actual purchase. We offer contract pricing on active grades for project-committed volumes so your margin isn't eroded by a spot price move between bid and production.
Custom Color for Architectural Applications
Profile and trim manufacturers often need matched architectural colors. We compound color packages to your approved standard - including RAL and NCS references - with lot-to-lot consistency that exterior building products require for warranty coverage.

UV Packages, Weather Ratings,
and 20-Year Warranty Grade Support.

Construction products that go on a building have to outlast the warranty. We don't just quote the grade - we evaluate the UV stabilizer package, weatherability data, and color retention history against your outdoor exposure conditions so you're picking the right resin for the application, not just the cheapest one that fits the melt flow window.

Iowa Profile Manufacturer Extends Product Warranty and Cuts Material Cost With Grade Switch

An Iowa manufacturer producing exterior trim profiles was running a generic HDPE grade with inadequate UV stabilization. Warranty claims for color fade were running above acceptable levels after 3-4 years of outdoor exposure. We identified and qualified a UV-stabilized HDPE grade with documented 7-year accelerated weathering performance at 14% lower material cost than the incumbent. The product warranty was extended from 5 to 8 years. Zero color failure claims in the 24 months following qualification.
